Our 2nd stop on our Gate 1 Travel vacation through Ecuador was in Otavalo. We stayed at the Puertolago Country Inn and fell utterly in love with this hotel.

During our Gate 1 Travel to Ecuador, our party consisted of 3 people (my husband, son, and myself). Gate 1 Travel booked us a Double Room, and it worked nicely.

What makes the Puertolago Country Inn unique?
The location of the Puertolago Country Inn is out of this world and certainly makes it unique. The views of the volcano and San Pablo Lake are unmatchable. In addition, the staff is superb, and the little things they do during your stay add a little touch. For example, during turn-down service at night, they will leave chocolate coins and a warm water bag on your bed to keep it warm until you get in.

The food at the Puertolago Country Inn is fresh, tasty and provides a variety of choices.
During our trip with Gate 1 Travel, we enjoyed one dinner and one breakfast at the Cafe Colon Restaurant and found the food very delicious.
We were also offered a delicious cinnamon tea that helped us stay warm at night. The view from the restaurant is incredible.

No! The rooms at the Puertolago Country Inn are not air-conditioned. Most hotels in this area will not have AC as the temperature is colder.
When we visited in July with Gate 1 Travel, we did not miss having an air conditioner. On the contrary, we appreciated the hot water bag on the beds and the sparkling fireplace to keep us warm.
